I am currently a Faculty Associate in the Department of Government at The College of William & Mary and an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Affairs at the University of Georgia. See my University of Georgia website for more information.

  

My primary research and teaching interests include the following: 

  • Intranational Conflict

  • International Conflict

  • Forced Migration

  • Terrorism

  • Intelligence

  • Comparative Politics

  • Political Development

  • Research Methodology

I currently direct Project Civil Strife, funded by the National Science Foundation and the Freeman Asian Studies Grant Program at the College of William & Mary. My other current research projects include: AIDS, Security, and Democracy and Forced Migration. I  also Co-Direct  the Summer Workshop on Teaching about Terrorism with Gregory Miller.
